What do you get when you cross a frozen cocktail company with winter in the UK? It sounds like the start of a rubbish joke or the start of a David Attenborough documentary but don’t worry, it’s not! We’re not hibernating this Christmas!
From the 12th to the 14th of November we were down in Covent Garden piazza with Yelp! for London’s first mulled wine festival. We were there to unveil our first limited edition flavour – the world’s first Mulled Wine ice pop! As those of you who have tried our Mojito and Piña Colada know, we do proper drinks – our mulled wine LIC is at 10% ABV. That meant starting with 90 bottles of the finest Chianti along with over 10kg of Indonesian spices and citrus fruits: cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, star anise, bay leaves, oranges, limes and lemons.
We doubled up on the amount of spices and fruits that you’d normally use to make sure that the flavours came through fully and weren’t overpowered by the wine. So how did it taste? Pretty damn good! Well, we’re a little biased so we’ll leave it up to the experts:
Most importantly, we had an awesome time and met some cool people, thanks to everyone who came down!
Our LIC napkins made sure that nobody’s hands got too cold!
